Dr. Michael Ungerleider of Granby to serve as leader and voice promoting oral health in CT
Dr. Michael Ungerleider, a dentist for more than 25 years, was installed as the Connecticut State Dental Association’s (CSDA) President on May 11 during its House of Delegates Annual Session. Dr. Ungerleider will serve a one-year term providing leadership and the organization’s voice for maximizing oral health throughout the state.
“I want to thank Dr. William Nash for his previous leadership and advocacy on behalf of the organization. It is a great honor to serve along with my colleagues and I look forward to advancing the work of CSDA,” said Dr. Ungerleider. “Oral health is a cornerstone to overall health and longevity, and with the tremendous advances in dental care and techniques, it is vital to maximizing the overall health and well-being for everyone.”
Dr. Michael Ungerleider has served patients in Granby and the surrounding communities since 1990. He holds a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and a D.M.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, Dr. Ungerleider completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH and he is also a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry.
In addition to his dental practice, Dr. Ungerleider is active in various community and volunteer activities, including serving on the CSDA Board of Governors, Past-President of the Hartford Dental Society, the Granby Chamber of Commerce, and he currently serves as Vice President of the New England Chapter of the International Association of the Orthodontics. His volunteer experience has included providing free dental services with the Connecticut Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic and Hartford’s Give Kids a Smile programs, both serving the uninsured and underserved populations throughout the state.
Also, elected to the CSDA Board of Governors were Dr. Gary Linker of New Britain as President-Elect; Dr. David Fried of Yalesville as Vice President; and Dr. Al Natelli of Southington as Treasurer. Dr. Bethaney Brenner, Dr. Mark Desrosiers, Dr. Steve Hall, Dr. Robert Hughes, Dr. Tam Le, Dr. Laurence Levy, Dr. William Nash, and Dr. Stephanie Urillo were also elected to the Board.
