The Connecticut State Dental Association is a statewide, professional membership organization representing Connecticut licensed dentists. CSDA members are committed to protecting the health and well being of people of all ages.

The CSDA was established in 1864 to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care from dental professionals. With a statewide membership of almost 2,600 Connecticut licensed dentists, the CSDA represents about 86% of all licensed dentists in Connecticut.


The CSDA is the voice of Connecticut licensed dentist in the Legislature. It maintains a clear and consistent message that dentistry is health care that works. The CSDA supports legislation that protects the high quality of dental care that Connecticut residents receive.
The CSDA also sponsors statewide public outreach programs that highlight the importance of good dental health for people of all ages.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Connecticut State Dental Association shall be to cultivate the science and art of dentistry and all its collateral branches; to evaluate and sustain the professional character of its members; to disseminate knowledge pertaining to the advancement of health; and to represent the interest of the members of the dental profession and the public which it serves.

The Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) is a constituent of the American Dental Association. In turn, the CSDA is made up of 22 component societies in seven districts. Each component society is an autonomous organization with power to elect its officers, govern the conduct of its members, provide for its own financial support, elect new members, and sponsor meetings for continuing education and direct business.
