Dr. David Salomon is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon specializing in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He serves as a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Division and is on staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He actively mentors and teaches residents through the Yale Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program.
Dr. Salomon has introduced advanced maxillofacial treatment options to southern Connecticut, including trigeminal nerve repair, facial bone reconstruction using in-situ tissue engineering technology, and was the first surgeon to perform zygomatic implants in the Yale Health system.
As Director of Resident Research, Dr. Salomon oversees the Yale OMFS Journal Club, leads the multidisciplinary obstructive sleep apnea conference, and serves on the Resident Admissions and Clinical Competency Committees. He also represents the department on the hospital’s Peri-operative Patient Safety and Quality Committee. His contributions were recognized with the Bernard Levine Attending of the Year Award in both 2023 and 2024.
Dr. Salomon has been extensively involved in research, presenting at both local and national meetings and authoring numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters.
He has been recognized as a “Top Doctor in Connecticut” in 2024 and named a “Top Dentist in Connecticut” by Connecticut Magazine for six consecutive years (2019–2024).
