Radiation

UConn School of Dental Medicine has developed a Radiation Health & Safety Competency Assessment Self Study Course, Materials and Exam. The Radiation Health & Safety Competency Assessment meets the 2023 legislation, which allows a Dental Assistant in Connecticut to take dental x-rays if they pass either the national exam, Dental Assistant National Board’s (DANB) Radiation Health & Safety Examination or the Connecticut assessment, the Radiation Health and Safety Competency Assessment, administered by a dental education program in Connecticut that is accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation. Please note, the Radiation Health & Safety Competency Assessment cannot be used toward Certified Dental Assisting and does not replace the DANB test.
